Kuching, Sarawak - Semenggoh Wildlife Centre

It was on a lovely day, when both me and YY decided to go for a short trip. It was like this minute we were still having tea and next minute we were saying "why not we go somewhere next week?". I headed back home and spent some time on Air Asia's website. Few hours later, tickets booked.

Another ad hoc decision, I love it! The best part is I have a companion this time :) The initial plan was to stay at Damai beach for two days and Kuching City Centre for one day. At the end, we scrap the plan and decided to stay in the city for three days and rent a car to make traveling around easier for us.

YY at train station.

We took a train from Bandar Tasik Selatan to Salak Tinggi and boarded a bus to LCCT for RM 10.80.
We landed in Kuching around 9+ in the morning. After getting our car from the airport, we drove to Brookes Terrace at Jalan Abell to drop our luggage. If you are looking for a budget accommodation, Brookes Terrace is a good option. It's within walking distance to Kuching Waterfront and just a few shops away from the famous Chong Choon kopitiam - they sell one of the best Sarawak Laksa *slurp*. We paid RM 74 per night for a Deluxe Twin Private room (Ensuite) with LCD TV, air-conditioner and FREE WI-FI. Well worth it. We got our rooms from HostelWorld.com.

Our room. There's even a small fridge.
We visited the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre after a short rest in the hotel.

Orang Utan!
Enjoying his food
The path to see more orang utans but it rained heavily :|
Mama carrying the little orang utan walking down the street. We have to stand far away to avoid being attacked. They can get aggressive when they are protecting their kids.
Took one last picture before we ciao.
Our ride in Kuching. We got our car from http://www.keretasewadikuching.com.my/ The cheapest we can find online. You can even negotiate for a better price if you rent the car for a longer period.
We managed to see a few orang utans before the weather gone bad and started to rain heavily. Offer a ride to a few tourists back to the city (our 1st time, I think:)). Took shower and headed to Buntal fishing village (40 min drive from the city) for our seafood dinner.

Our favorite dish in Kuching - Midin!
The view

Sweet and sour jelly fish

Mini bamboo clams
We call it a day after dinner as we have to wake up extremely early the next day to make it to Bako National Park :| yeah, so that's gonna be another entry of this blog.

Goodnight :D! BTW, it's FRIDAY tomorrow!
