Taiwan - Tamshui -> Shilin Night Market -> Taipei 101 (Part 5 - final)

Image
The final post on my 2010 Taiwan trip ! Yeah, I know. I need almost 2 years to blog a trip. But I am still proud of myself at least I didn't give up! #shameless We continued our drive back to Taipei city after Yangminshan National Park. We went to the famous Tamshui (Danshui) once we arrived in Taipei. It is a place I always wanted to visit as I've read about it many times in love novels (yes, I am a romance addict - another secret exposed -.-). It is a popular location for viewing the sunset with restaurants along the riverside. Too bad, it was a gloomy day. The famous Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf Laxe buying his favorite quail eggs. The sauce is delicious. One of the famous local drinks - sour plum tea After spending a romantic great afternoon in Tamsui, we drove to Ximending to check into our accommodation, dropped our luggage and headed straight to Shilin night market, one of the largest in Taiwan! The last time I read on news, the stalls here wer...

Taiwan - Kenting -> CingJing Farm -> Taroko Gorge -> Hua Lien (Part 3)

Motorbike is the best vehicle to travel in Kenting especially in summer time. Riding along the seaside and feeling the sea breeze is one of the unforgettable experience I had in Kenting. Us with the rented scooters (Laxe - the tree hugger -_-) We were riding along the seaside We went to the beach after a long ride under the scorching sun. It was great to be in the cooling water after sweating so much! Dinner settled at Kenting night market The next morning, we headed to Taichung, rented a car and drove all the way to Cingjing Farm in Nantou County. Cingjing farm is a place with cooling weather like Cameron or Genting but instead of Casino & plantation, it's famous for its farm. CingJing Farm. The view from our hotel room. Lovely, ain't it :)? After checking into the hotel, we rushed to CingJing Farm but we were too late -_-. So we took a detour to the Small Swiss Garden - the Taiwan's Little Switzerland. The garden was decorated in Summer t...

Taiwan - July 2010 (Part 2)

Part 2 after 1 year plus, better than none right :p? What I didn't mention in the previous post, this trip was a memorable one. I was invited by Bin to join his secondary school friends - Margaret & Laxe after he saw my status in Facebook looking for travel partner to Taiwan. Bin was the only person I know before the trip but I had no regrets joining the travel group. The adventure we had together, the things we did and the companions were SUPERB.  It was a 8 day 7 night trip from 3rd of July 2010 - 10th of July 2010 (wow, not bad huh, I can still remember this XD). Once we landed in Taipei, we rushed to the train station and headed to Kaohsiung.  The three musketeers  After settling down in the hotel, Bin's Taiwan friend brought us to the night market. Check out the food we had. From top left to lower right: Papaya milk (heard that it's good for breast enhancement XD), grilled food (ordered grilled chicken ass  & told Bin it's chicke...
