Kuching, Sarawak - Bako National Park

Image
On the 2nd day in Kuching, we woke up around 6+ in the morning and walked across the road to have kolok mee. Kolok mee reminds me of Hakka mee in KL but with slight difference in the ingredients. Our 1st try on Kolok Mee was satisfying. After breakfast, we started our journey to Bako National Park.  We paid RM 10 for entrance ticket and another RM 50 for a boat as Bako National Park is only reachable by boat (max 5 passengers in a boat but we couldn't find anyone to share the boat with us maybe coz we are too pretty and they are shy -.-). The boatman left us at the dock around 9am+ and we told him to be back around 2:30pm to pick us up.  After registering ourselves and got the map of the park, we had a discussion on which trail to take and we decided on Teluk Pandan Kecil trail where we will end up at the beach :D. The welcome sign (typical tourist shot...lol) Visitors on the boat Met him - the bearded pig Annoyed by us coz we were ...

Kuching, Sarawak - Semenggoh Wildlife Centre

Image
It was on a lovely day, when both me and YY decided to go for a short trip. It was like this minute we were still having tea and next minute we were saying "why not we go somewhere next week?". I headed back home and spent some time on Air Asia's website. Few hours later, tickets booked. Another ad hoc decision, I love it! The best part is I have a companion this time :) The initial plan was to stay at Damai beach for two days and Kuching City Centre for one day. At the end, we scrap the plan and decided to stay in the city for three days and rent a car to make traveling around easier for us. YY at train station. We took a train from Bandar Tasik Selatan to Salak Tinggi and boarded a bus to LCCT for RM 10.80. We landed in Kuching around 9+ in the morning. After getting our car from the airport, we drove to Brookes Terrace at Jalan Abell to drop our luggage. If you are looking for a budget accommodation, Brookes Terrace is a good option. It's within walkin...

A Date at Loving Cafe, Sri Petaling

Image
Last week I catch up with Miss Mandi at a new restaurant in Sri Petaling - Loving Cafe. I was keen to try out their organic vegan diet. It is located next to Sweet Bean Dessert. The menu. There's a variety of food - Japanese, Asian and Western. Miss Mandi's Pineapple fried rice, looks delicious but she didn't manage to finish it. My cantonese fried mee hoon. It was okay. The following day, I went back to the same restaurant with Bin. This time around, I ordered its vege ball pasta and I got to say I love it! I love how the vege ball taste. I would say so far I enjoy the food here. The best part of it, most of their dishes don't come with artificial meat. Something that I really appreciate. I guess they use different types of mushroom and bean curd to make the vege balls. You will love the balls (sounds wrong here :O) if you love mushrooms. I would highly recommend you to visit this restaurant if you enjoy vegetarian without much artificial meat. B...

Dinner with Crabbies

Image
Yesterday, crab king invited us to his house for some home cooked food. Who can resist home cooked meal? It's like the best food in the world - it's healthier, cook with care (more hygienic) and most importantly with love :) *cough*! I arrived on time and crab king was cleaning the prawns. It's his virgin attempt to cook butter prawns - also one of my favorite dishes. I love the egg floss! Chef for the butter prawns. The rest of the dishes are prepared by Jin ~! Tadah! That's the butter prawn - with egg floss and butter sauce *slurp* Fried pork with wolfberries. My 1st time trying this combination, not bad at all :) The dishes for the night - cucumber pickles, roast duck, fried vege with mushroom, butter prawns, fried pork with wolfberries and beetroot soup! Roast duck bought by lil alien crab. We didn't manage to finish it :| Too much food. After dinner, we spent our time watching TV and talking craps as usual. I bought Ai Yu Bing (jelly...

Ad-Hoc Trip to Hong Kong

Image
It was ad-hoc as tickets were purchased a day before the travel date (yea, that's me. As cool as you can get #dontpuke). I was going through a very down time at that moment. My then boss was very kind to allow me to take off from work for a week still need to work from home la  to sort out my mind. While thinking rubbish  resting at home, I managed to catch up with Pam Pam online and she asked me to visit her in Hong Kong! So I got stimulated by her (hahaha) and rushed to the Air Asia counter in KL Central to purchase tickets (couldn't purchase online coz it's less than 24 hours, I think). Not many photos taken because I was not in the mood (I was depressed leh). I only took photos when I was out with Pam, that's when I was feeling slightly better. Thanks Pam for being there and let me put up at her place for 4 nights, also thanks for the Internet connection (for me to work from home *ahem*). Yeah, that's emo me.  Hairy Crab! It was the season. The...
