Geramnya!

I've been receiving emails from different ppl asking me questions about Working Holiday Maker. I wouldn't mind at all and I am happy to help but when you were being asked the same question for more than 10 times, wouldn't you be annoyed? Plus, you can find most of the answers from the vfs website. (but of course, if you are my friend, I won't mind at all...wahahahaha *hint* - at least introduce yourself first, before bombarding me with lotsa questions!)

The most frequently asked questions:

1) How much should I bring? I have X amount of money is that enough?
I've answered this X amount of times and I believe it's being stated clearly on the website - as long as the money you have is enough to sustain all your expenses in UK for the first 2 months. I can only tell you the rough expenses in London but if you are looking to go somewhere else, you will really have do some research yourself.

2) I am working as XXX in Malaysia/ I have X years working experience in X field, do you think I can get a job in UK?
Do I look like a recruitment consultant? I can answer you if you ask me about my working field but not like I have worked in different fields in UK. How am I supposed to know? A guy used to asked me about being a butler in UK! I don't even know there's such a job position (forgive me if I am that shallow). Please please, go to all the job sites I have stated in my past entries and do some research!

3) What do you think about those mat sallehs, do they look down on Malaysians -_-?
This is a sensitive question related to discrimination. If I say yes (of course not all of them), will that stop you from coming to UK? If no, then I am lying to you (sure got one la, everywhere in the world is the same). Big cities like London, Birmingham & etc, they are multicultural so I don't think you will encounter this issue. If you are going to small towns, it really depends on your luck. BUT, seriously does this really matter? If you are determined enough, I don't find any reason that should stop you from coming here.

4) Where should I stay?
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO ANSWER YOU THIS? Tell me! You are asking a complete stranger where you should stay in UK. UK is so big! Do have some considerations first or at least give me a few options so I can give you some advises based on what I know. Whether you have a relative here or what's your budget and what do you prefer? If you just ask me like that, it's like giving me an essay topic and expecting me to elaborate...duh!

5) My XX is gonna sponsor me. If XX transfer the money to my account will I be questioned about it?
I can't answer you this coz I have no sponsor when I applied my visa. You really have to check with the ppl from VFS. You can call them if it's too troublesome for you to travel all the way to KL.

I've spoken to a few WHMs here and most of them find it annoying when ppl ask them repetitive questions. Most importantly, most of the answers can be found on the website or through VFS. You can't totally relying on us (WHMs that have successfully got their Visa) because the system has changed/changes.

I am offended when someone added me on messenger without introducing himself. The worst part was when he started asking me about - so have you found a new place to stay? Do you still feel down? & etc etc. Ask yourself, will you feel comfortable chatting to a stranger about all this? At least, introduce yourself (I've repeated this X times).

A good example, Pamela emailed me before she comes to London. I replied her emails and I like the way we communicate and we are friends now. I like the way she emailed me like emailing a friend because she makes me feel that I am not being used just to answer her questions. (Pam pam, don't tell me you were using me ar...wahahha).

I used to receive an email with 1 line:

Can you tell me more about UK?

Hello!? This is so disrespectful. Don't blame me if I didn't reply your email. I don't like talking to strangers who treated me like an answering machine -_-

I can proudly said that, when me and my cousins applied for this visa, we seek no help from anyone except posted a few questions (accommodation related) in the forum after we got the visa. We did lotsa research and were so panic when we were preparing our documents - e.g. can we use liquid paper -_-. I am just trying to tell you that, you have to at least work hard yourself before asking for help.

Okayla...I know lotsa ppl will hate me after this post but I am just telling the truth -.-. I won't mind helping at all but how do you expect me to help when you are not helping yourself?

P.S. Some ppl, after I've replied the first email, there's no reply from them anymore. Not even a thank you. How would you feel if you are in my shoes?

Alright....this post seems to have been written out of pure and unadulterated irritation....am sorry that you have to go through all this.
It has started happening to me too...so what I did was to go back to a 'sent mail' at one of the forums and copy and paste in the new mail. ;-)

I'm sorry if I ever happened not to thank you for your reply lol -_-

I think you should point the forum link (http://www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=33395) to the people who ask because there's a lot of info one could digest on. I digged from post Number 1 to page 50ish and there's even a sample of invitation letter and a couple of samples of supporting document writeup format which I follow closely.

Just so you know that this alternative could alleviate your bugging issue :P

Sometimes i keep myself updated on what's going on the WHM in TP ..I do find it annoying when these ppl just wanna find a bloddy short cuts and take things for granted ..Most of the answer can be found IF you read the previous entry in the forum and repetative question is being asked again again.
If you want to be spoon feed - WHM is defnet not for you !

arun: The thing is they can actually go to the forum themself to look for the information instead of us spoon feeding them. Next time you shouldn't copy and paste it for them =p

n: lol, no worries. I know n, you have left quite a few comments. I can remember you.

mae: I will but if they have done enough research they should be able to find Traverllers Point. You gotta update me with you application status. Gan jeong for you here.

Soph: Have you got you visa?

Pam Pam: Settled already but can only do house warming next week. This weekend we are not here ma...are you gonna be there with soo hui? You know the #there# is where la.

Felice: Have you sent in your application?

Lynn: Yes YES! That's wat I was trying to say! You understand exactly how I feel. Some ppl are just like that -_-
